Trees of Friendship

About the project

The regional initiative in the Western Balkans aimed to promote environmental solidarity by planting Trees of Friendship in 12 cities across the region. In Kosovo, at least 50 trees were planted annually as part of this effort, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the environment and strengthening cross-border cooperation.

The initiative not only contributed to expanding urban green spaces, climate mitigation but also symbolized unity and a collective commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.

Additionally, the campaign included a public letter addressed to national authorities, calling for stronger environmental protection measures within national parks. The initiative aimed to inform the public about the long-term consequences of such developments and to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives for energy production.
