The project focused on air quality monitoring and pollutant mapping while raising awareness about the impact of air pollution on human health and the environment. It supported the development and adoption of Local Air Quality Plans and the creation of Consultative Groups to involve citizens in decision-making within the municipalities of Peja, Gjakova, Istog, Klina, and Deçan.
Air quality measurement devices were installed, including public digital displays providing real-time data in Peja and Gjakova, and indoor air quality devices were set up in eight key locations such as schools, healthcare institutions, and municipal buildings.
Additionally, trees were planted across targeted municipalities for three consecutive years to expand green spaces and improve air quality, contributing to climate change mitigation. Overall, the project aimed to enhance public awareness about the importance of clean air in western Kosovo.
