Connecting local communities in the municipality of Peja with municipal services in the field of environmental protection. Through focus groups and other events with community leaders, a communication process was initiated to address key environmental issues by actively engaging residents and providing solutions to the challenges they identified.
Promoting Circular Economy practices, particularly within the textile industry, by encouraging the adoption of circular principles focused on reducing waste through recycling and reusing materials, as opposed to the traditional 'take-make-dispose' linear model. As part of the project, an online Circular Economy platform re-ko.org was created, along with research assessing waste management practices in the textile sector. The initiative also included the creation of sustainable fashion collections, organization of the Western Balkans Circular Economy Fair, and an awareness campaign featuring e-newsletters, podcasts, best practices, success stories, and short videos to promote circular economy concepts. The project is building capacities of the textile industry in waste management and the application of circular economy principles in production operations. Additionally, a Circular Economy Book a flagship activity will be published to further support the transition to sustainable green business practices in Kosovo and Western Balkans.
Strengthening internal democracy, transparency, and accountability within the organization, ensuring openness and responsiveness to members, beneficiaries, donors, and the public. During the project, key internal documents, manuals, and strategies were developed to support these efforts.
Raising awareness about the protection of natural resources and advocating for a ban on the construction of small hydropower plants in Kosovo. A short video was produced to visually illustrate the environmental damage caused by these projects, emphasizing their negative impact on local ecosystems and communities. Additionally, the campaign included a public letter addressed to national authorities, calling for stronger environmental protection measures within national parks. The initiative aimed to inform the public about the long-term consequences of such developments and to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives for energy production.
